Plum Crazy, oil on hardboard, 6x6", $99
This time of year it's hard to resist painting produce. The skins never look as good any other time. Oh! and then you get to eat the subject. Score!

Two To Tango, oil on hardboard, 6x6", $99
Love frogs! In 1995 I dug a 3.5 foot deep, large hole in my front yard just so I could fill it with water and have frogs. Hasn't worked out exactly like I expected. We seem to have one resident frog each year. That's okay. I love the game of hide and seek he plays every day.

Tea Time, oil on hardboard, 6x6", $99
Sometimes it really helps the painting process to mix things up a bit. Setting up a still life is almost harder than the painting part. It also can stir some lively debate. My husband (also an artist) does not like this background. Bah! it's one of my favorite parts. Good thing it's not up to him.

The Connection, oil on hardboard, 6x6" $99
Who knew there were so many shades of red and orange?!?! a bit of a nightmare to paint but I'm guessing I'll tackle another one. Glutton for punishment

Treadin' Water, oil on hardboard, 6x6" $99
I love frogs! when we first moved to the country I dug a pond in the front yard to see if we could attract them. It's never been as many as I want but the fish we added probably didn't help. They find those frog eggs mighty tasty. Regardless, they are so fun to look at and watch. Pretty good painting experience as well.

"Deep Lake" oil on hardboard, 8x8", $176
This is another painting done on excursion with my friend and fellow painter Lori Twiggs. Tomorrow we venture out again. The Pacific NW is expecting a change in weather tomorrow so it could afford an entirely different experience. Stay tuned!

Why Jog When You Can Paint?, oil on hardboard, 8x8"$176
My friend and great painter Lori Twiggs to me to a place called Deep Lake to paint yesterday. The number of greens in the landscape was a bit daunting but we were tenacious. There were some joggers that found us quite the oddity

Day Lily, oil on hardboard, 5x7", $99
The upper left background color and contrast is a bit darker than the photo indicates. I've shot it 4 days in a row. This is the closest I've been able to get. Sigh.

Only The Shadow Knows SOLD
This is the stray cat that resides in my painting studio. We have had him for years and no one can touch him but me. Even that is tentative. Not the handsomest guy but I'm pretty fond of him.

Plein Air, oil on hardboard, 8x8", $176
this is a piece I did in our garden the other morning. We had a Plein Air class visit the day before and I was so inspired by watching them that I drug my gear out the very next day and painted my own plants. So fun.

"Where's Alice?" oil on hardboard, 6x6" $250
Did I mention that I just LOVE paint?!? there is something luxurious about a palette full of color just daring you to pick it up and lay it down. So I did.

Falling Petals, oil on canvas, 20x30" $1,650
The current figure series I'm working on is exclusively female. I have been including bird imagery using different formats. For some reason, this piece didn't seem appropriate for an aviary element.

Blue Orbs, oil on hardboard, 6x6" $99
The definition between the reds and oranges is much more defined in the real painting. I shot this image so many times and the camera just wouldn't pick that up.

Petaluma 3 oil on hardboard 6x6" $99
Thought this boat created a wonderful abstraction. You're never quite sure if you are looking at it right side up or upside down!

Petaluma #1 oil on hardboard 6x6" #99
You know how sometimes you travel to a place for the first time and you pick a hotel for no apparent reason? well, that's what we did when we went to Petaluma, California last year. Lucky us! this was one of the views from our hotel room. It was very early in the morning and not much stirring. That view and a cup of good coffee. Didn't need much more.

"Long Shadows" oil on hardboard 5x7" $99
This was the view from the windows at a winery in Walla Walla, Washington. The landscape is so different from our side of the mountains. They actually have a horizon.

"Merge" oil on canvas 20x30" $1,650
I've had this idea hanging around, bugging me for quite some time. I want to do an entire series of either figures or portraits all sharing the same background. Since I was already playing with female figures/birds this didn't seem like to major a jump. The drape of the fabric cascaded like water so it somehow made since to combine the two.

"Drift" oil on hardboard 12x12" $400
this is one of those pieces that I made myself stop before I had planned. There was so much more in my head that I thought I was going to do but the painting said "done!"
