My studio (or at least a segment)

If you missed the memo, Daily Painters is hosting a day of artists showing where they work. I decided to post this area of my studio because it is where I do my small paintings that show on the DP site. The wood "box" you see is a traveling set up another artist made for me in the mid 1980s. It's a slick system and very self contained. The large black box is a still life area (thank you Carol Marine!) What doesn't show? My treadmill, Bowflex, TV, stereo, 3 sewing machines (0ne is industrial for sewing leather) another painting station for large work, two drawing tables, a large work table and a framing set up. Oh yeah, storage for paintings, stretched canvas and two floor to ceiling bookcases plus two adorable cats.

One of the first wonders we encountered when we moved out of the warehouse in the city to our country home was the wonderful sound of frogs. When we landscaped the front yard we put in a pond, hoping to keep them coming. It worked.

It has been an odd day as far as art is concerned. First, Christmas shopping, decorating, baking and wrapping have kept me from my paint. I finally eeked out some time. That was novel in itself. Then, I began posting to my blog. It never asked me to log in. Open season I guess. Anyone could have posted for me. Oh well, I'm just glad to be here. Tomorrow is decorating cookies. Art of sorts.

Can you tell I think this guy is attractive? We have 6 cats now. The latest stray comes home from the vet tomorrow. He's quite the scrapper so it will be an interesting introduction. You won't see him here. He's not very cute.

These women had all actually been surfing prior to this image. I was amazed at the variety of folks out participating.
This is my wonderful husband, Ross and I "behind bars" at the Halloween gig.
There are few things I get a bigger kick out of than Halloween. We went to a Western Ghost Town Party
