Usually I think the cows in the pasture look kind of organized. This group DOES NOT.

Yes, those are drops of water on the image. My studio is out from the house. Our weather man did not predict rain. On an ill timed trip to the house to fetch the camera I used the new painting as a bumbershoot. Sorry but I'm not about to run through it again to try for a dry one.

For some reason this group of leisure diners reminded me of Weight Watchers. Since I've never been to Weight Watchers it really didn't make sense.

I've been out of the studio for a couple of days. We volunteered to transport our foundry equipment downtown Enumclaw and do live demonstrations during the annual Art Walk. It was a lot of work but a big success. The visitors to the walk were very surprised. Even though I'm exhausted I was determined to finish a painting today. The comfort of things familiar.

I have developed this theory; all cows in a herd face the same direction at any given time. Sometimes to face the sun, but where we live you can't count on there being sun so I'm not sure what gives.

"Five For The Drive", oil on canvas, 20x30

We moved to Enumclaw from a warehouse in the industrial district of Seattle. These cows are a constant reminder of the differences.
