This is a small color study for a future, larger piece.  This read field (well, really red and gold) was so visually fascinating to me.

These trees are at a large park by us.  They are very old and I would wager to bet that few visitors notice they are actually fruit bearing apple trees.  At one point I had the little red devils in there but it proved too distracting.

This time of year it's hard to resist painting produce.  The skins never look as good any other time.  Oh! and then you get to eat the subject.  Score!

There's a little more yellow and a bit less intensity in the real painting.  Fun piece though.
