I've been wanting to do one of the wardrobe images on a larger format for some time. This one has always seemed a little daunting so it seemed like the obvious one to start with.

I've been away from the paint for a bit. Too long to explain.

My larger cow images are currently hung in a corporate setting in Kirkland, Washington. After delivering them I remembered how much fun they were to render. I'm afraid you'll be seeing more...soon.

I have so much to say about this painting that I don't know where to begin. First, I'm usually at my day job on July 5th. Since I was home today I spent the better part of my hours weeding. When we moved here my husband and I neither one was interested in gardening. However, we had this perverse idea that we could plant a few flowers and the would provide me endless subject matter. Now that we have landscaped 2.5+ acres most of the time is spent in maintaining it. Today, as I trudged along, I kept passing this flower. After I gave in to the 84 degree heat I drug my French Easel out of the cobwebs and set up right in front of this beauty. It was so much fun I can't even describe it.

This gentleman and his wife were at a recent art gala that we attended. They were so "artsy". It reminds one that image isn't everything but it counts.

I never thought I wanted to paint fruit. However, another wonderful daily painter and I have been carrying on a conversation on line and I was "inspired" to do this. Hate to tell you, there are more to come.

This is another image from our knarly old tree. I think some folks call the apples Transparents. They have the thinnest pale yellow skin. Maybe I'll paint one when they're ripe.

We have a small "orchard" in our foundry yard that remains from the previous owner. The house was built in 1936 from mill ends. We are the second owners. This apple tree is very old. If we were better caretakers and sprayed dormant oil etc we would probably have lovely fruit. Since we don't we have lots of rather homely apples. Looks do not affect taste!

This rose grew off the roots of a grafted plant we had. I just don't have the heart to distroy it.

For those of you that garden, we waited two years for the now extinct Heronswood to put these on the market. It was worth it. The display this year is breath taking.
