"Daylilly" oil on masonite, 6x6"

I have so much to say about this painting that I don't know where to begin. First, I'm usually at my day job on July 5th. Since I was home today I spent the better part of my hours weeding. When we moved here my husband and I neither one was interested in gardening. However, we had this perverse idea that we could plant a few flowers and the would provide me endless subject matter. Now that we have landscaped 2.5+ acres most of the time is spent in maintaining it. Today, as I trudged along, I kept passing this flower. After I gave in to the 84 degree heat I drug my French Easel out of the cobwebs and set up right in front of this beauty. It was so much fun I can't even describe it.

Lovely painting, Sharman! I too have lots of weeding to do, esp. after being gone awhile. It's never ending. But even with weeds, the flowers are a joy.
